Sound of music speed painting

Most of you should recognize the screenshot of Sound of Music below. I d like this movie and the songs in it. Now, I really made myself about exploring the brushes in photoshop. Learned the option Dual Brush. Contrarly as before, I always have the brush box open in my window. Tried to get a sad feeling with a touch of happiness. It took less than an hour.

Final Fantasy Chocobo Tales style

From time to time to time, I practice by trying to get an artist style. I think Shirma, the girl in Final Fantasy Chocobo Tales game, is very cute. It is a style I really like. Very fast doodle.

I didn't want to concentrate a lot today. Way of being lazy. But it is time I work a little. A drawing of 40 mins. I just learned a new brush function. Brushes are digital artists friends, but I don't make use of them enough. It is time I do, otherwise I will always use the 4 basics brushes. Today I tried and learned the transfer setting. Very useful for details. Maybe I will soon make my owns.

Pixel art

Two days without making speed painting, my bad... But I was doing school homework, so I do have an escuse.

Here what I made! It is some visuals for a video of Spirited Away having the Gameboy color look.I enjoyed doing these. I spent a lot of time on the first picture. The 2 first pictures are bg pans. The last is the Start menu.

The little animation for the start menu link.

Missing the camera move and the music already composed in 8-bits. Then, there will be a little animation of Haku in dragon going through the paper birds.

Monday 17 October 2011

Got the time to do 2 speed paintings today. Quite a long time spent here: 2 hours, but still not very detailed. I chaged the composition a little, because not seeing everyone on the boat isn't advantageous. The characters posing were a little difficult to understand. More stable poses, as I didn't found the need to make them dynamic. I wanted a more passive feeling.

Very satisfied with this one. Took less than one hour. A reasonable time for the result. I think it is very clean with a great feeling. It is really good looking. Maybe too much saturate for the purple? I don't know...

I did this very late yesterday just before going to sleep. took about half an hour. Okay, not really good...

Linked for life speed painting

Used a screenshot from Chinese Paladin.I like the simplicity of this image. Wasn't so simple to draw, as I'm very bad at drawing hands. I spent most of the time on the left hand, because it kept looking awful... Well, tough subject for me. Took... what?! Two hours?! Because I spent like 1 hour on the hand....?

Bedroom speed painting

1hour and a half spent on this one. I'm sick, maybe that's why I decided on a bedroom scene. I was losing concentration while doing it.

Butterfly fly speed painting

For those who watched most versions of Butterfly lovers movies, you will probably say that the version staring Wu Chun and Charlene Choi isn't good. Shame on me, I still liked it... But sill lots of flaws. Like, how come they can think she's a girl? Did they spent enough time together to fall in love? Well, so much thing that didn't worked out. Some stunning backgrounds here and there. This one, particularly. I thought about saving the step by step. Took about 2 hours. It was a very demanding drawing. I think there is some potential here. That's why I'm planning to make a final drawing of it. There are still lots of details I can add. Still think I need to put light in the drawing and atmospheric deep in the back.

Temple speed painting

I just decide that I will do speed paintings often. It is not too much time consuming, so I think that I can afford making one or two per day. Here is my first! I was able to begin at last! About 1 hour.

Fractal

I always loved fractal arts. I always said that I will try it someday. Here comes this day... Those are my first tests. I still need to explore the settings a lot.

I have downloaded Apophysis, Apophysis 7x, Fr0st and Bryce 7 (All free, if you ever ask)

played with  the editor in apophysis. And, looks like a dragon...

Tried Fr0st. The mutations are very cool. I so like this fractal. I'm less proud knowing I got this after two seconds...  It would have been wise to work it a little more. I should have saved the parameters, but when I made this fractal, I didn't know it was important.

I'm finally learning how it works. I now begin to undestand when and where to move the triangles.

Fresh air

I got some free time... Here, I made a realistic digital painting. It is a speed painting, but not that fast. No reference used. I wanted to see how realistic I could get without model. Okay, there are things I didn't want to arrange., but maybe that why I can call it a speed painting... Anyway, just wanted to practice. It,s been a while I haven't draw.

Junks

What we needed to do for this project was mostly established in the beginning. We needed to model a can, a wine glass and some optional junks. The project had to contain a background with a terrain and moving water. At less one can had to float in the water. The objective was to learn some modifiers.

3D spaceship environement

Environment. The 3rd project was to create an environment for the spaceship. We had to explore some new tools. No sky though...

3D spaceship

First modeling in 3Ds Max! It is when I realized that I really like 3D. The project was to model a spaceship. Here's mine. Oh, and we had to animate it taking on.

Circus 3D -First animation

I finally began school. I'm now studying 3d animation at Centre NAD. My first animation here. Okay, I used primitives for this, so, no real modeling. I put some squash and stretch from what I learned when I was in 2D. I don't know how to play with the curves editor yet. I played a little by importing textures. I used the 3Ds Max for the first time, so I'm really happy.
