Dove & the Crow

Our last project of the semester! We had to create 2 anthropomorphic characters and make an illustrattion out of them. We did an adaptation of Beauty & the Beast. Our main theme was the cage. The Beast cannot go outside of his castle, or else he will transform into a monstrous creature. When we were thinking of the cage, we also thought of birds. So, we are in the birds world. Beauty must be simple and pure. In the picture, the Beast already took a step ouside. That's why his foot are already transformed.

Game concept - backgrounds final

This semester, the biggest project was to create a game concept. We were a team of 5, and there were about 6 game concepts in all. Our game was a puzzle action game. 3 of tthe 6 were to be selected by juries of the industry to be realized next semester...actually, one level of the game will be made. After all, we only have 3 mouths to make it. Our game was selected as the second game and will be made next semester.

I was the one charged to make the background.

The complete map with the cubes plateform and how it will look with the background:

I was warming up with some bg's tests:

We have floating isles in our game
tried to get a cubic feelling here...

Working with the atmosphere and elements in the backgrounds. We have two kind of
backgrounds. One representing crazy mind, an another representing a corrupted beautiful
                         world.

Here are some tests I made for the cubes. Yes, we actually play with cubes...

I love the second and third cubes...

Shaman

Final mid-semester character design assignment. First part of the project was to draw an archetype. Next was to draw it in another context, different from the archetype. My archetype was the shaman and I made a sky shaman for the second one.

Simona portrait

We had to redo the portrait of a girl. It t be the most identical possible. I don't know if I have the right to post the original picture, so I won't post it. The other thing we had to do was to redraw her in a different style.

Dragon teenager

Here is the first 3D character I made last session, using 3Ds max and zbrush. The following pictures are from screenshots, so the quality is a bit low... Due to the fact that the character was meant for real-time and not for rendering, I made screenshots instead of render.

First, the zbrush sculpture:
