Daily practice - covered by the cold

I wanted to try a completely new style and technique. A lot more instinctif than most of my drawings. I always wanted to try drawing from greyscale first and then adding colors. That's how I made it.

Dragon girl concept

For my new 3D character, I plan to make a girl with dragon features. Maybe someone raised by dragons or with abilities common to dragons. I don't know yet, because there is no predetermined story behind it.

Here are some preliminary designs.

I have decided to add scales.

Because it is for animation practice, I tried to avoid too much flowy parts. I also wanted to make her looks more adventurous. I haven't really animated in 3D yet, so I am trying to found a design sinple enough.

Different designs. The shoulders part was mostly decided, but I wasn't satisfied with the lower part.

My last sketch. It is a mix of what I liked in my previous drawings. I removed the belt that didn't fit well. I added pointy and round shapes. Her skin is covered with brown spots, reminding the dragon skin.
Now, I need to make a clean with the details and redesign the face.

Crescent moon - Animatic

This animatic was made for one of my courses. I intent to make a little 3D animation out of it. It will probably be in a 2D style. I am not sure if there will be shades yet. The design aren't definite for now. I am thinking of a more unique costume and design for the boy.

The plot: A little boy live alone on the moon. He is fishing to get some food. Then, something unexpected arrive... When I was young, I was told that the moon was a cookie. When it looks like a crescent, it is because someone ate it. This story is base on this.

The animatic was rearranged by me and my friend. She offered to make it with me, so we will probably be two to work on it.

Happy Birthday!

A gift for my big brother. As he is too far from where I live now, I'm giving him a yummy virtual cake.:)

Don't die

Theme: Emotion
The plant is already dead, but children are innocent. He prays, thinking that it will live longer. Who knows, maybe mother earth will answer the child prayers and make it grow again.

Otherworld

I did this drawing for a little contest on RMD. I think that the subject was interresting and it was my first drawing in a while. The theme was rainbow color scheme. We had to used the maximum colors possible.

The tree of life

One of our last assignment for the second semester.. Done with my friend Féegrita.
We were a little short of time for this one. We had to rush it, but I still like the result.

The last concert

School project in collaboration with my friend Féegrita. This scene has been made in 3D. I really enjoyed modelling the instruments. The theme was to do a "film noir" ambience scene, using contrasted values.

Mechanical birds

This time, we had to make 3 mechanical objects to practice the tiling texture technique and a new software called Marmoset (gave us a lot of trouble, though). At first, I didn't know what to do and it has taken a while before something came in mind. Then, I decided to make an adult bird, a baby and an egg in a nest. I ended up making an adult bird, a mid-adult and a baby, because the egg wasn't interresting to do. I worked hard on the design and the project was fun to do. I am very happy with it. I did found a subject that I like. Just ignore the background. Me and my collegues thought that we had to put it in the assignment, but it wasn't the case. I will remove it when I can get access to the sofware we had to use to make the final screenshots and video.

Delibird pokemon papercraft

I'm finally posting my Delibird papercraft! Sorry for the delay. This was done an eternity ago, but it was for a friend, so I didn't want to show it yet. Now, it's been too long, so I'm posting it anyway. Again, this was before I made my shinx papercraft. I had to buy new blades at that time, but didn't know were to buy them! The lines of this papercraft are very apparent, because my cutter's blade was not working very well, almost tearing up the paper sometimes.

Right now, I am working on another papercraft. It should be finished soon!

3D fire Hydrant

A fast exercice to begin the semester, just to get use to 3dsmax tools again. The exercice was to model a fire hydrant, texture it and add the lighting. It was then when we were getting used to texturing our models.

3D torso on Zbrush

Here is my first zbrush work. Zbrush is a 3D sculpture software. Great for sculpting high definition characters and objects. As a first exercice, we had to model a man body will all the muscles to study the anatomy. I spent a lot of time on the torso, but not much on the rest of the body. Here is my torso.

The front view of the torso
3/4 view of the torso

Monk

A little drawing I did for someone's book. It was concerning Tai chi, so he ask me to draw a monk with tools.
